Midland Golf and Country Club
located in the heart of Georgian Bay.
Midland Golf and Country Club can only be described through its heritage. James Playfair, a local businessman established Midland Golf and Country Club in 1919. The Golf course was designed by Nicol Thompson, the older brother of famous Canadian architect Stanley Thompson. In 1923, the Club was purchased by the membership and governed by a Board of Directors with James Playfair as the Chairman of the Board.
Doug Carrick, a student of Thompson was hired in the early nineties to begin a long range plan for capital improvements to the golf course. Mr. Carrick exceeded everyone’s expectations by capturing the sense of heritage and classic design that was established in 1919.
Midland Golf and Country Club will be one of the friendliest memberships you will ever come across. Eighteen holes of classic golf course architecture allows for an enjoyable challenge for both the casual and advanced golfers. We offer an assortment of membership opportunities and pay-as-you-play options. You may host a tournament, join a league, participate in a social event, book a group or host your wedding celebration.
